The apprentice programmes

Managing building services primarily involves heating systems, plumbing, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, carpentry and electrical maintenance. The maintenance of this equipment is highly skilled work. Therefore a great deal of training is required to ensure that all work is carried out to a high standard and that it complies with the necessary health and safety requirements.

The programme for a Standard apprenticeship consists of:

  • Level 2 NVQ and Technical Certificate in the chosen trade. Usually to be completed over 2 years. Apprenticeships within this framework include plumbing, bricklaying, and carpentry/joinery.

The programme for an Advanced apprenticeship consists of:

  • Level 2 NVQ and Technical Certificate over years 1 and 2.
  • Level 3 NVQ over years 3 and 4.

Apprenticeships within this framework include Engineering Maintenance, Service and Maintenance

Opportunities for the future.
