Our controlled programme of placements give graduates the opportunity to work in a series of interesting and varied roles. Graduates are always placed in real jobs, with specific learning opportunities, specific targets and outputs.

You’ll also attend structured training courses and be included on the Balfour Beatty Graduate Training Programme, a series of external courses aimed at translating academic learning into real life situations.

On starting with us you’ll be given an in-depth understanding of the whole Balfour Beatty business, examples of best practice learned through experience and a network of contacts within the company.

Graduate Recruitment

As a candidate you’ll attend a graduate recruitment day. You’ll undergo formal psychometric testing using accredited systems. You’ll also complete an accredited personality profile - this does not form a basis of selection, but is used as a reference document for the interviews that take place later in the day.

Interviews are then carried out by a number of the Balfour Beatty WorkPlace team and HR professionals. These interviews tend to be an informal two-way information sharing experience.

Decisions are based on the strength of candidate’s qualifications, aspirations, test results and interview feedback. We aim to notify candidates of our decision within two weeks.
